At the age of 14 I got my first job working for a catering company. Receiving my first paycheck, and realizing the possibilities that working opened up, was life-changing. If I could work, I could not only have the things I wanted in life but I could also achieve the things I wanted to. I fell in love with working and even more-so the idea of being in control of my life.
When I was in college trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up I considered lots of different options (legal, dental, psychiatry, hospitality), but mostly what I was looking for was something that would allow me to make my own schedule; to be my own boss. I stumbled upon entrepreneurship and that was it – I was hooked! There was an opportunity for me to control my income, my time, and my life and it was all through business. It didn’t take long for me to realize that networking with others was one of the fastest ways to grow my business and my bottom-line.
I started my first women’s networking group in college as a way to try and expand our web development business but also to gain the opportunity to connect with other women in business. It was so rewarding to be part of a group of successful and skilled women.
“And when you get to where you’re going, turn around and help her too. For there was a time, not too long ago when she was you.”
Over 10 years later, and after having built a 5+ million dollar sales organization (strictly off of networking), I felt that stirring inside to return back to where I got started… to surround myself with people that are driven, motivated and have a desire to succeed. I came across a quote not too long ago that said “And when you get to where you’re going, turn around and help her too. For there was a time, not too long ago when she was you.” That sums up why I started this organization once again. This time, it’s going to be better than ever! I’m grateful and so excited that you’re here to join us in this endeavor!
My hope is that this networking group will be pivotal in the lives of those that join us. We’re here for more than networking. The mission of this organization is to help uplift, inspire, and empower women to create the life they desire.
